2,426 New Cases Confirmed,
Test Positivity Rate at 6.9%
Sofia, December 7 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 705,586 after 35,004 tests identified 2,426 new infections on Monday, December 6, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day was 6.9 per cent. Some 81.20 per cent of the new cases are unvaccinated persons.
Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 505 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 224 cases and Stara Zagora Region with 139.
The active cases are 99,483. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,780, including 624 in intensive care. Newly hospitalized patients on Monday number 740, and 85.95 per cent of them are unvaccinated.
The infected medical staff so far during the pandemic have reached 17,537, including 4,673 doctors and 5,806 nurses.
Another 3,546 COVID-19 patients recovered in 24 hours, bringing the total to 577,043. Two hundred and eight fatalities were reported (93.75 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 29,060.
With 11,866 new inoculations on Monday, 3,412,632 vaccine doses have been administered so far. RY/VE
