Bulgaria's First International Youth Centre Opens in Stara Zagora

Stara Zagora, Southeastern Bulgaria, September 8 (BTA) - Stara
Zagora Regional Governor Georgi Ranov and Norway's Ambassador in
 Sofia Guro Katharina H. Vikor cut the ribbon of Bulgaria's
first International Youth Centre here on Tuesday.

The Centre has been established under a project implemented with
 the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway
through the EEA Financial Mechanism, which provided nearly 1.4
million euro to this end.

As from Wednesday, 70 young people who wish to upgrade their
knowledge and skills and 30 young people at risk, aged between
15 and 29, will attend the Centre, which is complete with a film
 projection auditorium, a computer lab, a gym, a dance room and
a drawing studio.

The idea to set up the Centre came from Stara Zagora Mayor
Zhivko Todorov, said Ambassador Vikor. She was pleased to note
that Stara Zagora is the first of four Bulgarian cities where
youth centres are established. The diplomat pointed out that the
 earlier young people at risk are educated, the faster they will
 integrate in society.
