National Bank: July 2015 Gross External Debt Is EUR 35,932.9 Mln, 83.7 % of GDP

Sofia, September 24 (BTA) - The gross external debt amounted to 35,932.9 million euro (83.7 per cent of GDP) at end-July 2015, decreasing by 3,423.5 million euro (8.7 per cent) from end-2014 (39,356.5 million euro, 93.7 per cent of GDP). On a year-on-year basis, the gross external debt declined by 2,549.3 million euro (6.6 per cent) from July 2014 (38,482.2 million euro, 91.6 per cent of GDP), the Bulgarian National Bank said Thursday.

Long-term liabilities totalled 27,922.3 million euro (77.7 per cent of the total debt, 65 per cent of GDP) at end-July 2015, down by 1,465.1 million euro (5 per cent) from end-2014 (29,387.4 million euro, 74.7 per cent of the total debt, 70 per cent of GDP). On a year-one year basis, long-term liabilities decreased by 1,448.7 million euro (4.9 per cent) from July 2014 (29,371 million euro, 69.9 per cent of GDP).

Short-term liabilities equalled 8,010.6 million euro (22.3 per cent of the total debt, 18.7 per cent of GDP), declining by 1,958.4 million euro (19.6 per cent) from end-2014 (9,969 million euro; 25.3 per cent of the total debt, 23.7 per cent of GDP). On a year-on-year basis, short-term liabilities dropped by 1,100.6 million euro (12.1 per cent) from July 2014 (9,111.2 million euro, 21.7 per cent of GDP).

The general Government's gross external debt totalled 6,012.2 million euro (14 per cent of GDP) in end-July 2015. It decreased by 14.3 million euro (0.2 per cent) from end-2014 (6,026.5 million euro, 14.3 per cent of GDP). On a year-on-year basis it increased by 1,295.9 million euro (27.5 per cent) from July 2014 (4,716.3 million euro, 11.2 per cent of GDP).
