Sofia, November 11 (BTA) - The ministers of agriculture and food and of the economy, Dessislava Taneva and Bozhidar Loukarski, Wednesday unveiled a series of food and wine industry exhibitions at Sofia's Inter Expo Centre. These include Meatmania, The World of Milk, Bulpek, Interfood and Drink, SIHRE and the Salon de Vin. The exhibitions will continue until November 14 and have gathered nearly 380 companies from Southeast Europe.

The State in the face of the Agriculture and Food Ministry is doing its best to make the agricultural and food industry sustainable, as it is most important for the country and the consumers, Taneva said. She recalled that the final procedure is being implemented under Measure 4.2 under the Programme for Regional Development for 2015, under which food and wine industry enterprises can apply in order to be able to implement their investment intention.

A large portion of the business in the sector are SMEs and the initiative for quick and easy funding under the programme for 2014-20120 is expected to increase the contribution to GDP, Loukarski said.

This year, Hungary is partner country to Interfood and Drink. On this occasion, a business delegation representing 15 Hungarian companies - producers and importers of wine, traditional food and drinks - is visiting Bulgaria. The bilateral meetings are aimed at acquainting the Hungarian companies with the Bulgarian business and the region as an attractive business destination.
