Traffic Restrictions on Heavy Lorries Wednesday, Sunday Afternoon

Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - Over-12-tonne lorries are not allowed to drive on motorways and busy roads between 4 pm and 8 pm on December 30 and between 2 pm and 8 pm on Sunday, the Interior Ministry said. This restriction is intended to improve road safety and ease traffic. It does not apply to vehicles carrying perishable foods, refrigerated goods, live animals and hazardous cargoes. Heavy traffic is expected on the motorways and the road linking Sofia and Kulata checkpoint on the border with Greece.
