Contracts Signed for Construction of Blagoevgrad-Kroupnik Section of Strouma Motorway

Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - The contracts for the design, construction and construction supervision of a project for building Strouma Motorway Lot 3.1, 12.6 km between Blagoevgrad and Kroupnik (Southwestern Bulgaria), were signed here on Wednesday in the presence of Bulgarian Regional Development and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova, Transport, Information Technology and Communications Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and representatives of the Managing Authority of Operational Prorgamme Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2012-2020.

After a public procurement procedure, the AM STRUMA 3.1 Civil-Law Company was selected as a contractor for the design and construction of the section of the 150 km motorway which links Sofia with Koulata on Bulgaria's border with Greece. The construction will cost 186 million leva, provided by the new Operational Programme Construction supervision will be exercised by the SN AM Struma Lot 3.1 Civl-Law Company at a cost of a little over 2 million leva.

There will be eight bridges totalling some 850 m, three overpasses, three underpasses, four agricultural underpasses and three road junctions in the Blagoevgrad-Kroupnik section of the motorway.

The contracts were signed by National Company Strategic Infrastructure Projects Executive Director Asen Antov and executives of the companies selected as contractors.
