Socialists Plan to Move No-Confidence Vote in Government

Sofia, January 9 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is about to move a no-confidence vote in the Government, BSP MP Georgi Svilenski said in Razgrad on Friday. The motives behind the motion will be discussed with all parliamentary groups and the independent MPs as the consultations will start already at the beginning of next week, he added. The issues discussed will include healthcare, education and the judiciary. "There are many reasons for moving a no-confidence vote and even more reasons why the incumbent government does not deserve to be in power any more," he commented. In his opinion the opposition should act so as "to rescue Bulgaria from this harmful and dangerous governance".

The debate and the way the separate parties will choose to vote will show whether GERB's main pillar in Parliament are "their covert partners from MRF", said MP Stoyan Mirchev. According to him, this has been supported by the vote on key issues, such as the judicial reform, the 16,000 million debt and a number of other laws, which "would not have passed without support from MRF".

Besides, the vote will help the Reformist Bloc identify themselves in terms of whether they are in the governance or in opposition, Svilenski also said.
