Shoumen Teacher Selected in Jury of  Microsoft Innovative Educators Leadership Awards

Shoumen, January 9 (BTA) - Informatics teacher Angel Angelov from Shoumen has been selected by the Microsoft computer company to take part in a jury for conferring the Microsoft Innovative Educators Leadership Awards (MIELA), Angelov told BTA.

Due to his achievements in the use of information technologies in children's education, Angelov was ranked second in the MIELA awards last year.

As he put it, 20 Bulgarian teacher deserve to be nominated for the annual award, which is conferred to teachers across the world for using innovative methods and good practices in training.

Five Bulgarian teachers are nominated during the current year, Angelov said adding that the awards are expected to be granted at a ceremony in Budapest in April.

Angelov has also been nominated for the Global Teacher Prize of the Varki Foundation to the amount of 1 million US dollars.
