Socialists and MRF Consider Theming No-Confidence Motion around Government's Overall Policy or Separate Policy Area

Sofia, January 15 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) have considered healthcare, demographics and internal security as possible themes for a no-confidence motion against the government and have also discussed the possibility of centring the motion around the incumbent's overall policy. Consultations on the motion continue. This transpired during a news briefing by the two parties' leaders on Friday after they met earlier in the day on the Socialists' initiative.

"That was the first meeting and we discussed not only the three proposed themes but also other policy areas which could justify a no-confidence motion. Then, the BSP and we had an idea to consider a fourth theme, which is not a separate policy area but concerns the overall policy," MRF Co-Chairman Moustafa Karadayi said. After the two parties make their own choices, the consultations between them may continue next week, Karadayi added.

BSP Chairman Mihail Mikov said the meeting was very fruitful.
