Sofia, December 20 (BTA) - The Bulgarian pavilion at the world exhibition in Dubai, Expo 2020 Dubai, held two events in December so far, said the Bulgaria Expo 2020 Association under the Contracts and Obligations Act, organizer of the Bulgarian presentation.

The first event was dedicated to ecology and the circular economy. Nadya Peneva, studying large-scale planetary processes inside the Earth at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, gave a lecture on carbon dioxide and the possibilities for prevention of its negative effects on the planet. Researchers Dr Evgenia Kovacheva and Dr Veselin Chantov from the University of Library Science and Information Technology (ULSIT) presented the Bulgarian circular economy and green technologies, highlighting the new methods for waste reduction, recycling, innovative products, and new developments in the private sector.

The second business event was a conference on the digital transformation of skills and educational challenges held on December 16. Researchers from ULSIT spoke on two topics - the development of a high-performance digital educational ecosystem, and European education and social media.

The Expo 2020 Dubai world exhibition continues until March 31, 2022, under the slogan ''Connecting Minds, Creating the Future''. The pavilions of 192 countries are located on an area of 438 ha, divided into 3 themed parts - Mobility, Sustainability, and Opportunity. Bulgaria's pavilion is situated in the Mobility sector.

Each country presents its contribution to the world's cultural, technological, and economic development. Bulgaria is displayed as an innovation and technology centre, which stimulates the mobility of people, products, ideas, connections and interactions between the East and the West, between religions and cultures, past and future, nature and tourism, economy and society, people and technologies.

Bulgaria's participation aims to create a lasting and positive image of Bulgarian business and cultural life, to increase investments in various sectors of the economy, said the organizers of the Bulgarian presentation.
