On Wednesday, Sofia Zoo specialists successfully retrieved a crocodile discovered in the Sofia suburb of Botunets. The reptile was found in a pool built on municipal-owned land, and the area has been sealed off with police barriers amidst increased police presence.

The retrieval followed an initial attempt on Tuesday, when representatives of the zoo and the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water in Sofia tried to capture the crocodile. However, they were prevented by an individual claiming to be the crocodile's owner.
