Sofia, July 16 (BTA) - Fifteen illegal migrants were arrested by border police at the southern town of Svilengrad on Sunday morning, the Interior Ministry said.

Socialist MP Elena Yoncheva reported the attempted border crossing to the 112 emergency phone number. She was there with a former Interior Ministry officer.

Border patrols arrived at the scene to arrest seven children, four men and four women, all of whom claim they are Syrians. An investigation is under way.
