Sofia, December 11 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on Monday met with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
Talks focused on advancing cooperation with UEFA and FIFA for the development of football in Bulgaria.
Ceferin was familiarized with the sports facilities and stadiums across Bulgaria and the fact that the government views the development of sports infrastructure as a prerequisite for the development of youth and professional football.
Ceferin thanked Prime Minister Borissov for the government's assistance in providing a plot in Boyana for the headquarters of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), which he said were unique in Europe. He extended an invitation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to be an official guest at the final match of UEFA's Champions League in May 2018.
The meeting was attended by Sports Minister Krassen Kralev, UEFA's Zoran Lakovic, BFU President Borislav Mihaylov and his deputies Atanas Furnadzhiev and Mihail Kassabov.
The BFU will receive some 3 million euro in funding under UEFA's HatTrick 4 programme, Ceferin told a news conference.
The BFU's headquarters in Boyana have been built on UEFA funding.
