Sofia, December 29 (BTA) - The Customs Agency has been distinguished in the competition for best "European Public Sector Award - EPSA 2017" of the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), the agency said.

"Bulgarian counter-undervaluation methodology" was judged as the best practice in the European/National Project category.

The awarded counter-undervaluation methodology was developed at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate in cooperation with the Bulgarian Industrial Association.

The European Anti-fraud Office (OLAF), too, has distributed the Bulgarian methodology as a good practice among all member countries.

The prestigious Best Practice Certificate was received in the name of the agency by Deputy Director Borislav Borissov, as well as by the experts who created it. The award was conferred by EIPA Director-General Prof. Dr Marga Proehl and Maastricht Deputy Mayor Andre Willems at a special ceremony in the Dutch city.

The competition for best practices is held every two years. A total of 150 innovative projects from 30 European countries and institutions were approved to participate in the present edition (EPSA 2017). Approved projects are evaluated by an international jury consisting of academics and experts from the private and the public sector. A project developed by a Bulgarian administration is distinguished at EU level for the first time, the press release says.
