Sofia, April 2 (BTA) - Analysing the political platforms in the justice sector between 2010 and 2017, the Center for Legislative Evaluations and Legislative Initiatives (CLELI) has concluded that on the whole, the political forces do not understand the problems of the judicial system, which makes their promises unfeasible.

The project was financed under Operational Programme Good Governance, the Bulgarian Industrial Association said.

Out of 156 measures planned by the majorities in Parliament, just 11 measures (7 per cent) were implemented. Ten measures (6 per cent) were partly implemented and 108 measures (69 per cent) were not implemented. No data were available for 18 measures (12 per cent).

CLELI Board Chairman Nikolai Dimitrov commented that the small number of implemented measures pointed to a lack of a medium and long-term vision for judicial reform. In many cases, the measures are too general as neither goals nor ways to achieve them are set. Dimitrov commented that the civil society and organizations should be more broadly involved in the adoption and implementation of judicial reform measures.
