The Russian army has used guided aerial bombs against civilian infrastructure in Odesa for the first time on Friday Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram.
“This is a new and serious threat to the Odesa region. Such strikes pose a huge danger to people and can cause significant damage," he added.
The Regional Governor appealed to citizens not to ignore the air raid sirens. The air raid alert in the Odesa region was declared at 13:23 and lasted until 13:37 local time Friday.
According to local Telegram channels, an attack involving four aerial bombs hit the Yuzhny and Chabanka settlements (located approximately 45 km from Odesa) with explosions in the region have also been reported.
According to the latest official census in Ukraine, there are over 150,000 Bulgarians in the Odesa region, making them the third largest ethnic group. Around 50,000–60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest concentration of Bulgarians is found in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
