site.btaSofia to Host International Scientific Conference “Bulgarians of the Northern Black Sea Region”

The International Scientific Conference “Bulgarians of the Northern Black Sea Region” will be held on October 27–28 at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IEFEM–BAS) in Sofia, Galin Georgiev, Chair of the Cultural and Educational Society “Rodolyubets”, told BTA.

Organised by IEFEM–BAS, the Sts. Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine, and the Odesa Scientific Society of Bulgarian Studies, the conference will feature presentations on the history, culture, identity, and linguistic heritage of Bulgarians in the Northern Black Sea region, as well as the effects of contemporary developments on communities in Ukraine and Moldova.

The conference traditionally brings together academics and representatives of Bulgarian communities to foster scientific exchange and promote research on the Bulgarian diaspora in the Northern Black Sea region.
