A prayer service for peace and prosperity of Bulgarians across the world was held in the Church of Transfiguration in the Ukrainian town of Bolhrad on Thursday. In the congregation were the participants in the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media organized by BTA and taking place here.

The service was held by Father Stefan Turlak of the Transfiguration Church, Father Nikolai and Father Sergei of the St. Nicholas Church. Father Sergei addressed the congregation in Bulgarian language as he blessed them and prayed for peace and accord.

The Transfiguration Church was built by Bessarabian Bulgarians and was finished in 1838.

The delegation of participants in the 19th Meeting includes BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, Bulgarian National Radio Director Milen Mitev, Council for Electronic Media head Gabriela Naplatanova, Sofia University Rector Dr Georgi Valchev, Bulgarian Consul General in Odesa Svetoslav Ivanov, the Executive Director of the Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, Raina Mandzhukova, BTA Deputy Director General Evgenia Drumeva, and many media representatives.

BTA is organizing the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Odesa, Bolhrad, and Izmail, Ukraine, from June 18 to June 21, 2024. The event is taking place with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, A1 Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD, Euroins Insurance Group, Postbank, SOF Connect, and the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
