The fourth edition of the Month of Bulgarian Culture in London ended with a gala concert on May 27, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) said in a Facebook post.

BCI hosted a number of events with the participation of Bulgarian cultural figures, including film director Stefan Komandarev, actress Eli Skorcheva, musician and actor Stefan Valdobrev and his The Usual Suspects band, Kristina Patrashkova, Teodosii Spasov, Boyka Velkova, Lyubomir Kovachev and others.

"The crowning glory of this extraordinary month of culture, organized by the small team of BCI London, Svetla Dionisieva and Miglena Rogacheva, was the gala concert Serata Belcanto by the artists of the Raina Kabaivanska School at the Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music," BCI noted in its post.

The performers at the gala concert included soprano Aleksandrina Mihaylova, mezzo-soprano Veronica Simeoni, Hae Kang (baritone), Giuseppe Infantino (tenor), Boryana Lambreva (piano).

Bulgarian Culture Minister Nayden Todorov and Bulgarian Ambassador to Great Britain Tihomir Stoychev greeted everyone present at gala concert. Nayden Todorov officially presented awards of the Ministry of Culture to prominent figures who have contributed to the promotion of Bulgarian culture in the UK and the world. Awards were presented to the British editor and director of Istros Books publishing house Susan Curtis and opera singer Aleksandrina Mihaylova.
