The Odesa representation of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights was damaged by a missile attack on Tuesday night.

At the moment, the office is working remotely, expert assessments of the damage caused by the missile attack are being carried out, Maria Popova, representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Odesa region, told BTA exclusively.

Popova said that fortunately there were no employees on the premises at that time and no one was injured.

The office currently receives all citizens' calls remotely, the appeals are processed on time, Popova pointed out.

The Odesa representation of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights is the fourth in Ukraine to suffer damage as a result of missile attacks. Previously, damage was done to offices in the regional centers of Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Kherson.

Odesa Province is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the provincial capital Odesa. Bulgarians in the province are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
