Hungary’s Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE) is marking the 70th anniversary of its Bulgarian Studies course in Budapest on Monday, BTA’s service BG World learnt from Szvetla Kjoszeva, a translator of Hungarian poetry and prose, lecturer in Budapest, and Editor-in-Chief of the Bulgarian-Hungarian lifestyle and culture magazine, Haemus.
On Monday, ELTE will host an international conference titled BOLGÁR70# to celebrate the anniversary.
Taking part in the conference will be scholars from the universities of Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Shumеn, and Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), the Bulgarian Studies courses in Prague and Brno (Czechia), as well as by Bulgarian Studies experts from Szeged and Budapest (Hungary).
Papers on Bulgarian and Hungarian literature, Bulgarian linguistics, cultural studies, and the history of Bulgarian studies in Hungary and Bulgaria will be presented at the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Bulgarian Studies students will perform a horo (a traditional Bulgarian chain dance).
