site.btaSecond International Amateur Theatre Festival Takes Place in Bolhrad

The second international amateur theatre festival Bolhrad Fest 2023 will take place in the Ukrainian city of Bolhrad on October 21. The event is organised by Bolhrad City Council in cooperation with the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry under the Bulgarian Development Aid programme.

Аmateur acting groups will perform on four stages in the city. Two of the stages will host live performances of troupes based in Odesa regional villages of Spaskoe and Kyslytsya and the cities of Kiliia, Yuzhne, and Bolhrad. 

The other two stages will stream performances from the cities of Reni, Ananiv, Tatarbunary, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Teplodar, and the villages of Pervomaiske and Kyrnychky in the region of Odesa, and from the region of Cherkasy. Аmateur theatre groups from the Moldovan city of Cahul and the Bulgarian towns of Kaspichan and Topolovgrad will also perform online, the organizers of Bolhrad City Council said on their website. 

“This is the second amateur theatre festival in Bolhrad. It will be held in-person and online to allow as many amateur theatre groups as possible to participate. Amateur groups from Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Moldova have applied for the festival. Both amateur groups of the Ongal Theatre Studio will perform in Bolhrad in Bulgarian and Ukrainian,” Zhanna Suslina, Head of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Bolhrad Municipality, told BTA.
