site.btaEuro-Asian Education and Science Forum to be Held in Sofia

The first ever Euro-Asian Forum for Education and Science between Bulgaria and China will take place on October 25 at Sofia University, the European Fashion Council Association announced Thursday.

It will showcase the programmes of nine higher education institutions based in Beijing. The aim of the forum is to discuss and implement opportunities for bilateral exchange between Bulgarian and Chinese universities for students and teachers, both short- and long-term, including master and doctoral programmes, short-term internships of several months, opportunities for joint research projects between universities and research centers of China and Bulgaria, for the implementation of ideas, perspectives, innovations, investments, etc.

The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Wang He and the Heads of the Municipal Education Commission and the Beijing International Educational Exchange Center. 

The Chinese education institutions to be represented are Beijing University of International Business and Economics, Capital Medical University, Beijing University of Technology and Business, North China University of Technology, Beijing University of International Studies, Beijing Polytechnic University, etc., including five Beijing high schools and vocational secondary and primary schools. Admission to the event is free for media, Bulgarian lecturers and research supervisors, as well as for students with student ID. Representatives of all universities, colleges, NGOs and institutions in the field of education and science are invited and will be present.

The Chinese delegation has arrived in Sofia at the invitation of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), the National Sports Academy and a consortium of two national NGOs (the National Fashion Chamber of Bulgaria and the Association for Shared Organic Agriculture), the European Fashion Council and two Foundations (Music Foundation Valyo Nachev and Dr. Vasil Stoilov Health Foundation). The delegation will also hold an identical Education and Science Forum in Bucharest, Romania before travelling back to Beijing.
