Prime Minister Glavchev to Attend Berlin Process Summit in Germany

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will participate in the Berlin Process Summit on Monday, October 14, in the German capital. This is the tenth meeting in a row in the format of heads of State of the Western Balkan countries and of the partner countries of the initiative, as well as representatives of international financial institutions and regional organizations, the Council of Ministers said in a press release. 

The Berlin Process was established in 2014 as a platform to strengthen cooperation between the Western Balkan countries and the host countries of the Berlin Process as well as the EU. The Forum aims to assist countries in the region in achieving European standards and bring concrete benefits to citizens in the region. The main idea of the initiative is to support the process of European integration of the Western Balkan countries, with the activities of the process focused on three main areas: economy and connectivity; reconciliation and good neighbourly relations; security.

Participants in the process are the countries of the Western Balkans - Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Kosovo, as well as Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, the UK, Poland, Greece, and Bulgaria. 

Caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov took part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Berlin Process countries at the beginning of the month at the invitation of his German counterpart Annalena Berbock. The forum in Berlin highlighted successes in the field of the common regional market, youth work and reconciliation projects, but also to draw attention to the need to strengthen good neighbourly ties in the process of European integration.
