site.btaDefence Minister Zapryanov Confers with US Ambassador Merten

Caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov conferred here on Friday with US Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten, said the Defence Ministry.

The two underscored the very good level of cooperation in the field of defence. The current modernization projects of the Bulgarian Armed Forces were the focus of the talks. The progress of the projects for the acquisition of a new type of F-16 Block 70 fighter jets and a new combat vehicles for the Army was discussed. 

The meeting was also attended by Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov and Deputy Ministers Radostin Iliev and Adelina Nikolova.
