Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov met with his Libyan counterpart, Taher al-Baour, during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Tuesday. Kondov told al-Baour that Bulgaria considers the State of Libya as its traditional and long-standing partner in the North African region, which has serious potential for expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

The two ministers expressed their countries' interest in enhancing the bilateral dialogue and signed a Memorandum on regular political consultations.
