Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina was Europe's hottest town on Tuesday, August 13, when it recorded a temperature of 42.6 C, the web portal Klix.ba says, quoting BH Meteo.

The second-highest temperature on the continent was measured in Aydin, Turkiye, at 42.3 C, and the third-highest, in Cuprija, Serbia, at 41.2 C.

Konitsa in Greece and Adiyaman in the eastern part of Turkiye come next in the ranking. North Macedonia's capital Skopje recorded 41.3 C, making it the sixth-hottest town in Europe on Tuesday, and Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina was in seventh place, with 41.2 C.

On Wednesday, the highest temperatures in Bosnia and Herzegovina are forecast to be between 34 C and 40 C, up to 42 C in some places, Klix.ba says.
