Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev awarded boxers Rami Kiwan and Radoslav Rosenov with honorary plaques for their achievements at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool. Kiwan won a silver medal in the 75 kg category, while Rosenov took bronze in the 60 kg category.
“Thank you for the excitement. You have brought much joy and pride to the whole of Bulgaria. These successes are proof that when the federation works properly, medals follow,” said Peshev.
For their achievements, the two boxers will receive cash prizes in accordance with Regulation 5 of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Kiuan's prize is BGN 35,000, and Rosenov's is BGN 25,000. Prizes will also be awarded to those who placed in the top eight in the championship.
The Minister also presented honorary plaques to coaches Joel Arate and Valentin Poptolev.
Bulgarian Boxing Federation Chair Krasimir Ininski said he was pleased with the performance of the boxers. He noted that this country has many strong competitors who are capable of winning awards at the biggest sporting events.
