The weather is suitable for hiking in most mountain areas, said the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross on Friday.

The weather is clear, except in the Central Balkan region, where there was fog this morning. Temperatures are between 10C and 15C.

No incidents involving tourists have been reported in the past 24 hours, the MRS added.

Cloud cover will be significant over the mountains and there will be precipitation in many places, with heavier rainfall in the Central Balkan and Rhodope Mountains. There will also be thunderstorms mainly in those areas, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). There will be a light, mainly northwesterly wind, and a moderate west-southwesterly wind in the higher parts of Rila and Pirin. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 20C, and at 2,000 meters - around 13°C.
