Bulgaria’s top track and field athlete in 2024, Tihomir Ivanov, secured first place in the men’s high jump competition at the Udin Jump Development 2025 international athletics tournament in Udine, Italy.
The Bulgarian, who finished eighth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, triumphed with a result of 2.25 meters. Ivanov cleared 2.06, 2.12, 2.18, and 2.22 meters on his first attempts. At 2.25 meters, he succeeded on his third try, as did Italy’s Matteo Sioli. Both athletes attempted 2.28 meters but were unsuccessful, leading to a jump-off for the title. With the bar lowered to 2.26 meters, neither competitor managed to clear the height. The bar was then set at 2.24 meters, where Sioli dislodged it, while Ivanov successfully cleared the height to claim victory.
Third place went to Jonathan Kapitolnik of Israel, who jumped 2.22 meters.
