Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) Technical Director Kiril Kotev said that the national team aims to win its match against Luxembourg on Friday, as well as the one versus Belarus on Monday. Bulgaria is third in Group C/3 of the UEFA Nations League with 5 points. Luxembourg is last with 2, Belarus is second with 6 and Northern Ireland - first with 7 points.

Bulgaria suffered a 0-5 loss in its last match with Northern Ireland on October 16.

"After the bad result in the last game, the boys are extremely motivated and we expect to wash off the shame and get two wins. Even as the players started to gather, we had a chat and discussed the situation. There was some issue that came out in the media and we tried to resolve it. We are looking ahead," Kotev said.

Asked what the future of coach Ilian Iliev is after the end of the Nations League campaign and whether his position at the helm of the team is in question, the BFU Technical Director stressed: "We are fully focused on these two matches."
