From October 17 to 20, Sofia will host the sports event Taekwon-Do for the Rights, organized by the Central Police Taekwon-Do Club jointly with other nine countries. Club Chairman Ventsislav Ignatov told BTA that the sports event builds upon the children's programme Friends of the Police at the European level within a European project.

Starting Thursday, representatives of ten European countries will start arriving in Sofia. Each delegation will comprise 15 taekwon-doists aged 12 to 17 and five adults (trainers, police officers or representatives of a law enforcement agency, and a judge), Ignatov explained. The participating countries are Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium, Poland, and Latvia.

The guests will visit the Interior Ministry Museum. On Friday, while the children are watching various demonstrations by police officers, the adults will take part in a roundtable at the Interior Ministry Academy. At the forum, each country will present its role models. Later, everyone will visit the Faculty of Firefighting for a series of demonstrations, Ignatov explained.

On Saturday and Sunday, a taekwon-do competition will be held at Sofia's Asics Arena.
