Olympic silver medallist from Tokyo 2020 Antoaneta Kostadinova ranked 16th in the 10m air pistol discipline at the shooting tournament of the 2024 Olympics, which took place in Chateauroux, France on Saturday.
Kostadinova finished the qualification with 573 points (95, 94, 99, 97, 94, 94). A total of 44 athletes took part in the qualifications.
The Bulgarian, whose preparation for the Paris 2024 Games was disrupted by a shoulder injury, was four points out of a place in the top eight and the final. She had chances to move on in the fight for the honours, but in the last two series she scored only 94 points out of 100 possible and that proved decisive.
Veronika Major (Hungary) entered the final with the best score of 582 points.
Kostadinova will also take part in the 25m air pistol competition on August 2.
The other Bulgarian representative in shooting at the Games, Kiril Kirov, also finished 16th in the 10m air pistol earlier on Saturday.
