Bulgarian athletes won five medals on the first day of the International Wrestling Tournament "Petko Sirakov - Ivan Iliev: for men and women up to 23 years, taking place in Sofia on April 26-28.

The champion became Radomir Stoyanov, who in the decisive grip overcame Bogdan Olesienko (Ukraine) in the freestyle category up to 79 kg.

Vanesa Georgieva also took a gold medal in the 72 kg category, defeating the Ukrainian Daria Konstantinova 10:0.

One step away from the titles were Stilyan Iliev after a 0:6 defeat by Mikita Abramov (Ukraine) in the 61kg freestyle, and Hristo Valentinov after a 1:10 defeat by Vasil Mishani (Ukraine) in the 63kg classic style, who took silver.

Peter Gornyashki took bronze in the 72 kg classic style. In the small final he had a 10:0 victory over Finland's Jonah Mustonen.

On Saturday starts the competition in the other categories.
