Bulgarian artistic gymnast Valentina Georgieva won the gold medal in the vault final of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku (Azerbaijan), which serves as a qualification for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She has thus secured a quota place for the Olympics, but is still awaiting official confirmation from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
This was her third competition since returning from injury. She suffered a knee injury on August 14, 2022, during the vault final at the European Championships in Munich. On September 9 in the same year Georgieva underwent surgery for cruciate ligament and meniscus damage.
She previously won silver medals at the World Cups in Cairo (Egypt) and Cottbus (Germany).
