site.btaInnovation Minister: Not Excise Duties but Keeping Talents Is What Matters in Economy of Future

In the economy of the future, it is not tariffs that matter, nor who produces, how much and for how much, nor what access to resources they have, but who can nurture and keep talents as well as make them create, Innovation and Growth Minister Tomislav Donchev said here on Thursday. He was speaking at the Explore US 2025 Conference, jointly organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency to explain the opportunities for trade and investment in the USA.
With the US "we have the destiny, the privilege and the responsibility, but also the challenges to nurture talent", Donchev added. According to him, today's world will not change in 15 years but daily. "Let us not be jealous of who grows more and in what direction the talents are moving," the Deputy Prime Minister urged, adding that the direction is oriented towards the West. "Europe is also an interesting place, talent retention also depends on living conditions. Let us hope there is a large-scale movement in both directions," Donchev noted.
In his words, nowadays besides who is your partner, it is twice as important who is your competitor.
