A report on the activities of the BUIC for the period 2023-2024, as well as an activity programme and financial plan for 2025 were also adopted at the meeting, the BCCI said on Wednesday.

Liliya Ivanova reviewed the economic data on the trade between Bulgaria and Ukraine, pointing out that there is a noticeable decrease in trade in 2023 compared to the previous year. She presented the structure of imports and exports in recent years. She stressed that that the BUIC team has been working to create connections with Ukrainian partners and recruit new members over the past 2-year period.

Specific cases of support were related to providing assistance to Ukrainian companies in Bulgaria in contacts with the banks, informing the institutions about the difficulties in carrying out land transport to and from Ukraine, informing Ukrainian business partners through the Ukrainian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Business initiatives of Bulgarian companies.

BCCI Chair Tsvetan Simeonov highly appreciated the efforts of the BUIC management and expressed the Chamber's readiness to provide assistance to businesses from Bulgaria and Ukraine. He pointed out that the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine should not discourage business and the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
