17th Edition of Manager of the Year Takes Place in Sofia

The 2024 Manager of the Year awards ceremony took place at the Sofia Opera and Ballet Theatre on Monday evening. The winners of the categories Best New Business, Business in the Top 20 Million, Business Transformation and Team of the Year were awarded, as well as the recipients of two special awards, for regional development named after Prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov and for Sustainable Development. BTA was a media partner of the event.

President Rumen Radev also participated in the event which aims to honour business managers for the implementation of good management practices.

The winner in the Best New Business category was SOF Connect, the licensed airport operator of the largest international airport in Bulgaria. In April 2021, SOF Connect took over the management of Sofia Airport for the next 35 years. The main shareholder in the company is the Meridiam investment fund, which owns 100% of the capital and shares. The award was received by the company's  CEO Jesus Caballero, and the prize was presented by Petar Stoilov, CEO of Nestle Bulgaria

The winner in the Business in the Top 20 Million category was Ligna Group. The award was presented to Managing Director Genoveva Hristova by Metroreklama CEO Zarina Gencheva. Ligna Group is a furniture company with offices in Sofia, Bulgaria; North West England and with a newly opened office in Australia.

The winner in the Business Transformation category was Centillion, an innovative manufacturing company which produces electronic devices, systems, bundled products and services in the fields of medicine, avionics, precision and industrial technology.. The award was accepted by Dilyana Mihova, head of the Marking and Sales department.

The winner in the Team of the Year category was Sensata Technologies Bulgaria, a Bulgarian company with headquarters in Sofia and production bases in Botevgrad and Tsaratsovo. Its main activity is the production of high-temperature sensors for the automotive industry, mainly for exhaust gas treatment systems. The award went to General Manager Tommy ver Elst. 

Sensata Technologies Bulgaria also once again won a special award for regional development named after Prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov. 

The Sustainable Development recognition  was awarded to Antonia Sabeva, CEO of Management Financial Group.
