Bulgaria has the highest annual increase among member states for which data are available, with 5.5% growth in the construction sector, according to initial seasonally adjusted data from Eurostat, the European statistical office, published Friday on its website. The largest annual decreases in production in construction were recorded in Slovenia (-17.1%), Slovakia (-10.9%) and Hungary (-6.0%).

The output of the construction sector in the European Union in August increased by 0.4% on July (month-on-month). On an annual basis (compared to August 2023), construction in the EU fell by 2.4%.

In August 2024, compared with July 2024, seasonally adjusted production in construction increased by 0.4% in the EU, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. On an annual basis (compared to August 2023), construction in the EU fell by 2.4%.
