Lovech Municipality will be registered by the Agriculture Regional Directorate as a farmer organisation for the 2024/2025 economic year, said the municipal administration on Thursday. "This will make it possible to sale our own production of ecologically clean agricultural products for the needs of children's institutions", said Lovech Mayor Stratsimir Petkov, adding that the plantations will be on public municipal property in the village of Lisets, with an area of ​​nearly three hectares.

He noted that production will begin with fruit trees, including orchards with plums, apples and peaches. "The idea is to give children knowledge on how to grow fruit plantations, but also how to eat healthy," noted Petkov. He added that the production, which will be environmentally friendly, will be provided to schools and kindergartens.

Farmers and volunteers will help plant and grow the fruit trees in the first years, noted the municipal administration.
