In July 2024, the monthly inflation rate was 0.8%, and the annual inflation rate in July 2024 compared to July 2023 was 2.4%, the National Statistical Institute reported here on Friday. In June 2023, it was in single digits with 8.7% for the first time since January 2022.

The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2024 compared to December 2023) was 1.1%, and the annual average inflation rate for the August 2023 - July 2024 period compared to the August 2022 - July 2023 period was 4.1%.

Prices of goods and services

In July 2024, the prices of goods and services increased in the following consumer groups:

• Recreation and culture by 8.7%
• Hospitality by 3.9%
• Transport by 0.9%
• Healthcare by 0.4%
• Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.4%
• Alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.3%
• Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2%
• Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.1%

The prices of goods and services decreased in the following consumer groups:

• Clothing and footwear by 3%
• Communications by 0.6%.
