The Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning (MRF - New Beginning) party stated that that it will protect the interests of employers' organizations and support their proposals when discussing the state budget, said the formation's press centre on Thursday after a working meeting of the MRF-New Beginning parliamentary group with employers represented by the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA). The meeting focused on problems in the energy sector and their impact on businesses.
BICA warned that there is currently no operating mechanism for compensating for excessively high prices, which is leading to significant tension among enterprises. Therefore, MRF-New Beginning is committed to introducing an automatic mechanism for compensating electricity prices in 2025 for non-household consumers, because if there is none, this will lead to an increase in the prices of all goods and products produced in Bulgaria, the press release stated.
MRF - New Beginning will protect the interests of employer organizations and support their proposals when discussing the state budget, the formation stated.
BICA insisted that the 2025 draft state budget explicitly obliges the Council of Ministers to adopt a programme for compensating the costs of non-household end customers for electricity for the period from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, which will be financed by the targeted contributions of producers. These targeted contributions should be used solely to compensate for the prices of electricity for non-household end customers, BICA noted.
