The National Social Security Institute revealed on Tuesday that the average monthly contributory income in April 2024 was BGN 1,639.58. It was an uptick from the average monthly contributory income for the year spanning May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024, which marked a level of BGN 1,515.40.

The contributory income in the reporting month will determine the calculation of new retirement benefits amounts set for May 2024, as stipulated in Art. 70, Para. 3 of the Social Insurance Code.
