Nearly 3,000 people will celebrate the Easter holidays in Albena, the seaside resort said on Thursday. This will mark the start of the summer tourist season in Bulgaria, as a total of eight hotels in the resort will open their doors for the first time in 2024.

The tourists, which will be mostly from Bulgaria and Romania, will be welcomed with themed menus and a programme including children's animation, concerts and sports activities for the guests.

Many of the guests of the World Stars Salsa Festival have extended their stay to celebrate the Christian holiday in Albena, the resort's management also said. The festival was on from April 26 to 30.

Sveti Vlas Mayor Ivan Nikolov told BTA that the town officially opens the summer tourist season on May 2 as well.

“From the middle of May we expect an increase in the tourist flow to the town. Judging by the preliminary bookings, we have all the prerequisites to be optimistic for a strong summer season”, said Nikolov. In his words, Sveti Vlas is a wonderful example of how natural, cultural and historical assets can be combined.
