site.btaEurogroup President Visits Sofia for Euro Changeover Conference
The Finance Ministry will host a conference on "Eurozone Accession: Advantages and Challenges for Businesses", which will be held in Sofia on Friday, March 15, the ministry's press office said.
Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe will take part in the conference. He will be visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, who will open the event together with Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev. Over 100 senior Bulgarian business executives, employers and trade unionists as well as diplomatic corps members have confirmed their participation in the meeting.
They will discuss Bulgaria's preparedness to join the eurozone and the advantages and challenges of the euro changeover.
Before the conference, Donohoe will meet with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov. The guest will also talk with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.
The Eurogroup is the collective term for the informal meetings of the finance ministers of the eurozone. The Eurogroup provides close coordination of the eurozone countries' economic policies.
