The spring theatre season of the Bessarabian Bulgarians' Smeshen Petak [Funny Friday] Theatre in Taraclia opens with the premiere of the comedy Radka, I Shall Be an MP on March 29, 2025. The author of the play is Bulgarian writer Rumiana Kapincheva.

Vyacheslav Kiose, an actor at the theatre, is the play's director. This is the fifth production staged by the theatre based on Rumiana Kapincheva’s scripts. According to the director, the play was especially written for the Taraclia Theatre, in view of the actors and the director’s preferences.

The topic of the performance is love and the eternal battle between the thirst for power and moral principles. The audience will see how an ordinary man led by ambition, turns his back on his principles and is completely transformed. The story is presented as a comedy with the elements of satire and grotesque. The text mentions mobile phones, cryptocurrency, social media – everything that makes the play topical and closer to the contemporary viewers.

Rehearsals started mid-January, following an adaptation of the text and readings. Work on the stage was quite demanding and without any tension, the director said.

Following the premiere the troupe is ready to present the performance on other stages, if there are invitations, not excluding the possibility of performing in Bulgaria.
