"Bulgaria offers high quality health tourism that combines spa, medical spa, wellness, thalasso and medical tourism. Bulgaria has more than 600 mineral springs and 75% of them have a temperature of 37C to 101C," Minister Zaritsa Dinkova said during the forum "High-quality destination for health, recovery, rest and treatment with the cooperation of German health insurance companies", which was held within ITB Berlin, her ministry's press centre said on Wednesday.
Dr. Siyka Katsarova, vice-president of the European Spa Association and chairman of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa told the forum that Bulgarian among the leaders of spa tourism in Europe.
The official representative of BUBSPA in Germany Carmen Struck presented the opportunities for health tourism in Bulgaria. The country is included in the system of the Association of Public-Private Health Insurance Funds in Germany, which enables insured German citizens to be reimbursed for preventive healthcare spent in Bulgaria.
"The fast and accurate diagnosis by specialists in Bulgaria, the qualified staff, the excellent facilities and the rich possibilities for tourism outside hotels in Bulgaria represent an exceptional opportunity for German citizens," said Chilla Mezossi - Secretary General of the European Spa Association.
The event was attended by representatives of travel companies specialized in health tourism: Fit Reisen and Spa Travel; representatives from insurance companies IKK Berlin Brandenburg; experts and leading investors from the tourism industry in Bulgaria.
