site.btaConstruction of Hemus Motorway Will Resume, Two Roads to/from Varna Will Be Upgraded to Speed Roads

The construction of the Hemus motorway will resume and the roads Durankulak-Varna and Silistra-Dobrich-Varna will be transformed into speed roads, said Regional Development Andrey Tsekov, quoted by his minsitry, at a meeting in Varna with Regional Governor Andriyana Andreeva, mayors and MPs. 

All conditions are in place to resume the construction of Hemus motorway at the beginning of March, said the Minister. He specified that work will begin on stretches that have construction permits. 

„For Varna the most important projects are the Hemus and Cherno More motorways,” said the Minister.  

The Cherno More motorway is at a stage where the route is designed. Tsekov also said that for the roads to and from Varna money has been allocated from the state budget for the preparation of designs for their modernization and transformation into speed roads. He said that the road between Dobrich and Kardam, which is in very poor conditions, will be overhauled. 

During his visit to Varna, Minister Tsekov visited problematic sites in the city.
