Vazrazhdane Floor Leader Kostadin Kostadinov said Thursday that his parliamentary group sees the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) as the country's most objective media which is "fulfilling its role assigned by law". During a meeting of the parliamentary committee on culture and media, he added that it has become a tradition to hold BTA up as an example not only in terms of budget policy and the way in which budget funds are spent, but also in terms of editorial policy.

His remarks were in reference to a statement made by BTA Director General Kirill Valchev about the use of funds last year and the Agency's achievements during that period.

"That is why, Mr. Valchev, if most of the Bulgarian institutions take an example from BTA, from the way you manage the state funds, I think that the Bulgarian budgets will never have a deficit", Kostadinov argued.
