A talk on Ukrainian book publishing today will take place on February 27 at the Sofia Literature and Translation House, the organizers announced Wednesday.
The discussion will feature Ukrainian writer Natalia Matolinets and translator Rayna Kamberova. The conversation will take place in English.
Natalia Matolinets is a Ukrainian author from Lviv. Her stories weave together myths, magic, and the cultural heritage of Central and Eastern Europe. She has written eight novels. Her accolades include the Eurocon 2023 Chrysalis Award, along with the Best First Novel and Best Series awards from BaraBooka. Her works have been translated into Czech, Polish, English, and Bulgarian.
Rayna Kamberova is a translator with many years of experience in the field of fiction. She translates books by contemporary Ukrainian writers and poets. Her work includes translations of poetry and fiction. Kamberova teaches Ukrainian language, pragmatics and stylistics at Sofia University.
